Knowledge required: the nature and role of assessments of nationalstandards: what the national standards are and how to judge evidence againstthem fairly and reliably; how to identify relevant evidence from what is or maybe available; why it is important to make an accurate judgement against onlythe agreed standards; how to identify the role of knowledge evidence inassessments and ways of collecting evidence; how to identify relevant knowledgeevidence from candidates' performance; why it is important to collect evidencerelated to unpredictable events and how to do this; how to give candidates withspecial assessment requirements access to assessment. Principles and concepts:how to involve different candidates in putting assessment plans into practice;how to encourage candidates with different levels of confidence and experienceto take an active part in their assessment.
